Can’t get on the bike

Help! Got an exercise bike for my birthday 4 months ago. Been on it once for 3 mins. Plan to watch series but just can’t stop saying will start tomorrow!!! Driving me nuts. Never seems the right time. Advice please

What's stopping you? Get into something on netflix and then only watch it when you're on the bike (cycling 😂) I do this with the treadmill. If I feel crap and can't be bothered, I have to get on and run to watch my series!

Where do you spend most of your stationary time? Put it there and then go on the bike when you’d normally be standing/sitting doing that thing.

Put it in front of your kettle and go on it while you’re waiting for the kettle to boil.

Sometimes I find it helpful to make myself accountable by telling my DP I’m going for a run later - then it feels like I have to do it after saying it aloud!

Love the comments and suggestions! Thanks. Lol damp socks and the wee one. Going to definitely start tomorrow then. Have been recommended the Queens Gambit and This is Us any other recommend series? Also just to mention 12 years ago bought a treadmill and genuinely did just use it for hanging washing. Sigh

I spend a couple of hours a day on my turbo trainer and the best way I motivate myself is by signing up to a programme on Zwift. I’m currently 7 weeks into a 12 week programme. I won’t miss a session as then I won’t finish the programme! I also do body pump, Pilates and run but I have to schedule it in. I write myself a timetable so I know Monday, Wednesday and Friday are body pump etc - then I just get up and do it or it’s hanging over me all day. If I don’t do that I just put it off until tomorrow, which never comes!

Just give it a try and get on it rather than posting about it. You might love and get addicted or you might hate it and decide to sell it. No shame either way. But...you just have to try it.

What would you say to a small child in a comparable situation? Say that to yourself.

How about 5 minutes today, that is so achievable. Then that again tomorrow, but add on 5 more minutes. The day after, do the same as the day before, but just add another little 5 mins on... you get where I'm going! You don't have to start doing a whole hour on there. Start small and just add a little on at a time. You can do this OP!
