Entirely up to him none of anybody elses business

CaptainMyCaptain · 31/12/2020 14:11

If I had any claim to a European passport I think I'd do it.

Boris doesn’t give a shit, they probably cooked it up together. They are the epitome of ‘I’m alright jack’ all of them.

Notice how they all fucked off home the day before travel restriction.

FlatulentSproutEater · 31/12/2020 14:18

Not just him though is it? That epic piece of shit Farage has done the same (German) - they're all at it. The public has had the biggest number in history pulled on them but hey - BLUE PASSPORTS! Yay!

Defenbaker · 31/12/2020 14:18

At his age, I'd be surprised if he intends to actually live in France, so I'm unsure why he's doing this. Perhaps it's something to do with tax/investments, as he has a holiday home and may have other investments in Europe? Anyway, he comes across as attention grabbing and point scoring over his son, but I don't care, France is welcome to him.

nosswith · 31/12/2020 14:21

I would apply if I was able to, don't blame him. Though before he leaves, could he not help the UK by persuading his son to resign as Prime Minister?

lurker101 · 31/12/2020 14:22

@Defenbaker I imagine he’s doing it to enable future generations easier claims to it.. should they wish to take it up. I think my (future) grandchildren will be entitled to an Irish passport as I have taken it up before their parents are born and it will be easier to follow the paper trail. Those with more spurious claims to other nationalities have a harder time “proving it” once elder generations are gone and can’t provide information/documents as easily

I think you may be spreading a bit of fake news there.

RE: Stanley, didn't he campaign to remain, do kind of logical?

Did he ? What an absolute scumbag although scumbag isn't a new revelatiion. Stanley doesn't surprise me really he was never a Brexit fan!

Hopeful201 · 31/12/2020 14:41

He didn't support Brexit one bit, so doesn't surprise me.

BilboBercow · 31/12/2020 14:42

He's a remainer and is half French so it's a bit of a non story really

wigornian · 31/12/2020 14:44

@tttigress that’s correct, fake news. Garage has not claimed EU citizenship. His children are entitled to German citizenship via their German mother.

Mrsjayy · 31/12/2020 14:45

It is isn't it.

cyclingmad · 31/12/2020 15:13

@Hopeful201 @BilboBercow as they said he was always a reminder., its a non story.

Boris himself has even said so that in his family there are the reminders and leavers, probably like many families up and down the country.

So yeah hardly surprising, so whats the point of this thread then other to be another Boris bashing one?

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 31/12/2020 15:14

Don't like the man from what I've seen of him (Boris neither) - but just love that he's waited for the eve of Brexit, when Boris is crowing about his excuse for a deal, to go public with it.

OP posts:
TheQueef · 31/12/2020 15:18

His brother, Joe, didn't agree with brexit either.
Mind you he's done ok in the end....

lyinginthegutterstaringatstars · 31/12/2020 15:20

Does anybody actually care? Grin

Just to say, if you have acquired it through the foreign birth register or your children need to, then they must do it before any children are born to them in order for their children to be eligible.

ancientgran · 31/12/2020 15:57

I'm a remainer and got my Irish passport so I'd be a hypocrite to blame him for doing virtually the same thing, well the same thing but with a different country.

Janegrey333 · 31/12/2020 16:03

He’s an attention seeking nobody who clings to
the coat tails of Boris. That’s how pitiful he is.

TimetoHesitate · 31/12/2020 16:06

Personally I'd do the same if it were possible.

Namechangebuttercup · 31/12/2020 17:24

He applied for it ages ago, or planned to. This isn't news. It could be that he's recently submitted the required documents though because it takes ages to get them together (I was going to do it but I'm getting it through marriage and want to divorce, so won't be eligible by the time it's awarded).
