To ask if this is an evaporation line or not?

Cant go to the doctors for bloods or get another test today as I’m isolating, I hope it’s okay to ask for any views here! I would like another baby, I’m late on my period, and have some similar symptoms. However I haven’t had a period in about 7 weeks so I was convinced it was just stress, as when I first tested they were all negative.

After talking to the doctor on the phone, he said to take another test, and so I did this morning as luckily had a couple left.

It’s a sainsburys own one, it was within the time limit, but I’m unsure if this is an evap? Especially as I took a first response a couple of hours later, and it’s negative.

Sorry for the dumb post, just excited/ready to be gutted!

Thank you xx

It certainly looks positive on the other one.
Try again in the morning if you have any left.

It looks positive to me, however, I've heard a lot about the Sainsbury's ones being well known for false positives. I'm sure it's not the case but I'd recommend ordering a pink dye test, preferably first response. You can order off Amazon for next day delivery x

I’m afraid sainsburys own ones have been known to bring up false positives, same with tesco ones. Not to say you aren’t, but just making you aware- same happened to me.

If you’re seven weeks late I’d expect it to be a little darker then that can you try a digital one?

Lou98 · 31/12/2020 13:31

Sorry just seen your second post with FR too, definitely doesn't look like a false positive then the fact you've had 2 on 2 different brands. I'd definitely still order another FR and take with FMU if you can

I see positives on them all! Given your dates and the lines being faint, I guess there is the sad possibility of this being a chemical pregnancy and your period coming shortly, but there are lots of reasons for faint lines so I would assume BFP until you can get bloods or a scan!

kwiksavenofrillsusername · 31/12/2020 13:47

I would say they are positive. The First Response seems to be much more reliable than the blue dye ones. Strange that they are so faint. I suppose you could have ovulated much later than you think. Then again, I had very faint lines for a while with both my DCs. I was in limbo for a couple of weeks.

I'd give it a few more days and try the digital tests that give you a date. Or order some of the cheap ones off Amazon, as they can be quite sensitive.

The thing is I keep getting feelings like I’m going to come on my period, but I just don’t! Even had a very tiny bit of spotting last week. Very very faint and pink. The thing that’s making me think I am is the fact that I have this very unique stomach pain that I had with my first. Would like to be, but wouldn’t be the end of the world if I wasn’t. I hate testing!

I wouldn't trust a sainsburys test. The FR looks positive to me though. I'd just test again when your isolation period has ended.
