To ask if Shirley Valentine Made Fucky?

Another Shirley Valentine one. Not seen it for years but I always remember Costas telling her he didnt want to make fucky with her before they did exactly that. And then when she returns unexpectedly from the airport she hears him using the exact same line on another English tourist.

However this line was not in the film when it was shown this time. So does anyone else remember this line or am I reacalling it wrong?

Yes he does say that in the original (I have the DVD). I think its cut out for the TV versions.

Depending what time of day it’s shown, they may dub ‘make fuck’ as ‘make love’. Which kind of ruins the moment when Jeanette and Duggie are disgusted.

Yes that could be it too. Dp watched it with me this time and I told him the line before it came on. Except it didnt and I felt a bit daft. Glad I wasnt imagining it

I thought this too! Didn't they cut out her boobs out too? I am sure you saw her boobs as I told my husband that the part where she gets topless was coming up, but then you just saw her back.

We worked with a guy who bought a fishing boat and we told him he should call it boat is boat as in the film .

Whatever channel I watched it on the other day there was no boat fucky or shit talking men.

I would rather channels put on films later than nip out lines.

God I LOVED that film. And they definitely made fuck.

They also cut out the scene where she's having a night out with her friends, and says "I always thought clitoris would be a nice name for a girl".

I haven't watched it recently.

I do wish they wouldn't cut lines out films like that as they're very often some of the best and funniest lines and it can really detract from a film.

It's not a family film it's aimed at adults. If some people aren't adult enough to cope with the odd sweary word, give a warning before hand or put it on when the grownups are watching and leave it intact.

I know they sometimes cut films to fit in with the tv schedules - that often results in whole scenes being cut so parts of the film make no sense - but cutting out 'rude' words is just being prissy and silly.

Me and my mates used to laugh about it on holiday.

I can't abide not showing films in full. Her leaving the airport and going back to the bar to find Costa running the same "boat is boat, fuck is fuck" is a major plotline. So is the liberation of her jumping off a boat, topless, when only a week before she was cleaning the kitchen in a housecoat. If a film is post watershed, show it post watershed.
