Need help with son's present please

Not really AIBU but posting for traffic. My son is 16 in January and is a very keen drummer. He's had an electronic drum kit for Christmas and now I'm going to get him some bits for his birthday.

I was hoping that somebody would be able to recommend a really good drum music book. He's not an absolute beginner as he had some lessons at the school but they've stopped doing them and I want to get him a book that will carry him on.

If anyone can advise me I'd be very grateful. Thank you

My daughter uses the Rockschool Drums books (she started on the Grade 1 book and has worked up to Grade 3 - without ever sitting any of the exams, because she’s not bothered about getting any qualifications for drumming). They come with a CD to drum along to. I can’t say whether they’re any better or worse than any others, because I’ve never experienced others - but they cover a good range of genres and seem to progress in a reasonably well-paced manner.

Oh, and if he doesn’t have any really good headphones (with a long cable) to use with the electronic drums, that’d be a good present too! (Perhaps more for your sake than his...)
