Party food adverts?

Just that really.

What is the point?

If anything, the adverts are depressing me and making me miss parties!

I guess they already have the stuff in stock (maybe ordered/arranged a few months ago when Christmas/new year could’ve potentially gone ahead) so they need to shift it! I think a lot of households may still try and make it a bit special in some way (or at least different from most other nights) with a little buffet and a bit of fizz - so it probably still will get bought.

I am isolating with a Covid positive husband and I too am symptomatic so it’s looking like a freezer special for us 😐

Scarlettpixie · 28/12/2020 23:52

There is only me and DS (14) and we have had party food. You don’t need a house full of people to have a buffet!

mrsbyers · 28/12/2020 23:54

We had party food for our Christmas meal , wedding anniversary today and yep more party food consumed

Still1nLove · 28/12/2020 23:54

I’ve seen some lovely bits but I don’t want to buy loads of food that will go to waste. Maybe a party food pic n mix?

We had party food on Boxing Day and will do on NYE. Kids love it, easy for me and I'm guessing the shops still need to shift stock.

I always buy a few packs for the freezer for weekend lunches too.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 28/12/2020 23:58

ooh, some prawny bits and pieces for NYE maybe.

I haven't done it this year, but in the run up to Christmas I often buy a selection of party bits to nibble instead of a meal in the evening.

DressingGownofDoom · 29/12/2020 00:00

I didn't think anyone really bought those party foods for actual parties. Surely they're for scoffing in front of the telly with DH Blush

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 29/12/2020 00:08

Having party food nye just the 4 of us

Givemeabreak88 · 29/12/2020 01:33

I have 4 children and we bought party food, we are going to do our own mini nye party at home

oohyoudevilyou · 29/12/2020 04:42

You don't need a party, or even other people to have party food: Have it as a main meal/all day running buffet. Eat nowt but steamed broccoli the following day if you're worried about the nutritional content...your body will never notice Grin
