DH really wants to visit Amsterdam and he’s been such a rock this year that I really want to get him something special for our Anniversary so I’ve decided we should go!

Would you book for our Anniversary and tell him before (our passports need renewing so he would need to know before unfortunately!) or would you book for a few months later and give tickets for anniversary?

I’m leaning towards book for Anniversary but it’s really close to Christmas (looking at 18-21 Dec) and I feel like it would be awful to leave the kids for four days so close to Christmas! I’ve already checked with my parents and they’d love to have them but would it be a bit mean? His birthday is Feb so I could book for then but give tickets in December?

YABU - book for a few months later and just give tickets on Anniversary
YANBU - book for anniversary, the kids will have an amazing time with grandparents and won’t feel abandoned

It will probably be way more expensive to go around christmas.
