Mainly posting here for traffic but just wondered if this was normal. I had a smear test about 3 weeks ago. I have a copper coil inserted which is due to be replaced but because of Covid they aren’t doing it.
Anyway all was fine and I had my period about a week later. It was very very heavy and since then I’ve experienced spotting and although there’s no discharge I’m aware of a bit of a metallic-like odour. I always use liners and I am currently changing them possibly twice a day now after this.
Is it possible that when I had my smear that my UID was knocked and it’s causing this or could I have picked up and infection? I feel totally 100% fine and am about 17 days away from my next period.
Not sure if they will be able to just remove the coil if it is that. Will this settle down? I have to use the copper coil because I can’t do hormones so I am a bit worried if it’s taken out and I’ve no contraceptives.
