I don't mean to start another debate about whether it's right, wrong or good, bad. Just will be actually see changes if we're not in business or whatever ourselves.

Well, according to the post office yesterday, the basic cost of sending a card/letter to EU countries goes up from £1.45 to £1.70 on 1 January.

...meant to say that postage to EU countries is now going to cost the same as postage to the rest of the world.

You can purchase duty free drink and cigs on any flight to Europe (if there are any)
