AIBU to declare that Aperol Spritz is just the most Christmassy drink ever. Beautiful orange colour, fizzy and just this side of sour.

Sitting with my sausage dog and DP about to watch all creatures great and small. Bliss.

Oh yes I have to agree as long as you make it the traditional way.

Nooo Aperol Spritz is got drinking in a Piazza on a balmy day in the late afternoon!

Yabu, unless the second best is tia Maria and oj, aka Terry's chocolate orange...though it's not the same in so far as you'd have one as a treat or it's too sweet.

I only discovered this last week. I'm making if 3/4 Prosecco 1/4 aperol, tiny bit of ice and a couple of slices of lemon. Is that the proper way?

Aperol is a drinking in Italy in the hot sun by the pool drink!!!

Kir Royale. It'll be a while before I'm back in Paris so I bought a bottle of creme de cassis and I'm going to be drinking it this Christmas.

Agreed - but drink with caution! I got absolutely blasted on this, haven't gathered the courage to go back.

No, that's a sunny afternoon drink. I have mulled wine on the go, NOW that's Christmassy.

It's a summer drink IMO. DD and I like a poinsettia, which is prosecco, cointreau and cranberry juice.

Snowball surely. Baileys. Bucks Fizz even.

One Christmas I had some cranberry liqueur and had it with sparkling wine to make what I think is a poinsettia. That was delicious.

DD and 8 are enjoying a poinsettia right now

Aperol, Prosecco, dash of soda, orange slice, ice.

OR a Hugo - Elderflower cordial, prosecco, dash of soda, mint, lime.

Both to me are winter as had the first in January in a very cold Venice, and the Hugo while skiing - both are summer drinks tho.

@Therunecaster it's 1 part soda, 2 parts Aperol and 3 parts Prosecco. It should look dark orange.

They've adjusted the measures to account for a British tastes but it's not as good. It should taste quite thick and marmaladey.

Mulled wine mit schuss (ie with Amaretto) is my goto winter drink, when I fancy a change Mulled Cider with Calvados.

No my newly discovered Christmas drink is Anaretto and Baileys on ice its amazing (and very strong)

Defo a summer drink for me. I dont have one fave xmas drink. Xmas eve is champagne. Xmas morning is bucksfizz or a bellini then evening is baileys. In between whatever I fancy.
