Lost my beloved Nan last week and I just can't get in the spirit.
Plus Covid it's just not happening this year - the kids have no idea though.

@SomelikeitHoth-Im with you 100%. It doesn’t feel like Christmas and this year has just been awful 😢. Just hoping that 2021 improves at some point .

I'm actually having a sob now after just putting the kids into bed ready for Santa.

Really hard year this year after splitting with my DH of 16 years as well as this time of the year is always difficult as lost my dad to suicide between Christmas & New Year.

Feel like a spoilt brat really, but I think it all comes down to not being special to anyone- no-ones first choice when it comes to picking a bubble and not a single invitation even though so many of my friends and family know I'm on my own from tomorrow afternoon until 29th.

I lost my Nan this year, and my 3 year old niece had a bleed on her brain 2 months ago and is severely brain damaged with a DNR in place. I miss her so much, feel like I’m grieving for her. My own daughter is 8 weeks older then my niece and I just can’t seem to shift the heartache

Yep. Feel like shit but trying to make it magical for the kids.

Sorry for all of the horrible things people are going through. It’s rough.

Christmas is so emotive. I spent years trying to people please. But now I have no parents, they have passed away, NC with my only sibling. No kids due to infertility. Make the best of what you have.

Not a nice Christmas for me had my moms funeral 2 days ago feeling heartbroken

for everyone dealing with loss.
I’m feeling terribly sad this Christmas for no real reason. I’ve always felt that Christmas was for other people with real families but normally that doesn’t get me so down. I wasn’t able to fake it this year so I’m spending it pretty much alone.

I'm feeling sad. I just wanted to be able to spend a quiet Christmas with DSis this year after 2 close family deaths, and her splitting with long term ex. Can't even do that as we are both in tier 4 and I'm not in her support bubble. I'm putting on a brave face for DP as he's had family deaths too and of course I'm so thankful to not be alone at Christmas.

Also, it would have been my dad's 60th birthday between Christmas and New Year. He died in a horrible accident a few years ago. Brings it all back.

I can't remember a time when I don't feel sad at the moment. It will get better though! I bloody hope lol x
