Wow! Our neighbour just knocked on the door and gave us a beautiful bouquet of white and silver Christmas flowers!

I have been sooo down, all miserable and sobbing about Christmas, and now I'm really happy.

There are lots of people I haven't sent cards to and presents I haven't sorted out properly, normal Christmassy foods I don't have in, haven't made a Christmas cake, the house is a tip and my DH & I won't be seeing our kids/grandkids.

AIBU to think fuck it, decide to have a lovely lazy selfish Christmas and try to make it up to everyone next year?

Or should I get off my arse, spend the rest of today tidying and go shopping tomorrow for more pressies etc? Unfortunately, all the bits I haven't done affect other adults' enjoyment of Christmas, not mine.

A lovely Christmas surprise!

Take these flowers as a sign - Have a lovely lazy Christmas! Buy in whatever you need eg cake. If you can’t buy it skip it. Put your feet up and have a negroni. Suspect you might enjoy it so much you’ll make a bit of lazing about a new tradition. Have a great Christmas
