When do you start defrosting turkey crown?

Plans have changed so will be home. I have never made a turkey as it is always prepared by family. I have bought a crown. I think it’s medium. Is it safe to defrost on the counter (Google says not). I have no space in the fridge but may have to take stuff out if it has to be defrosted in the fridge.

Google gives a wide range of time to defrost so I thought I would ask here how long do you defrost your turkey?

I always defrost mine on the bench. Never have room in my fridge either. I haven’t poisoned anyone yet.
I would probably start defrosting first thing Christmas Eve if your cooking on Christmas Day or earlier if cooking the night before.

I normally cover it with a tea towel.

Like a PP, I always defrost mine on the side. We're all still alive.

Once defrosted, it gets brined Nigella style for 2 days in a bucket.

If you are defrosting it in the fridge it’s 12 hrs per kg.

It’s much safer to defrost it in the fridge if you can. If not and it’s in a sealed bag defrost it in the bag in sink of cold water.

Put the sealed bag in the sink fill it with cold water and change the water every 30 minutes. Should take about 1 hr per kilo.

Oh, thank you all! It’s all so intimidating, haha. I would have preferred the fridge but it’s full so maybe counter on the 23rd.
