I’m late 30s and during a phone call to my parents discussing baby names, I was told that I was named after a lady who saved my mum from drowning whilst pregnant with me.
It’s a shock to know that happened, but to hear about it all these years later I find strange the way she announced it so casually. Should I assume there is more to it or she just doesn’t see it as a big deal? Of course I’m grateful to the lady, whoever she is, but it’s a ‘story’ I’d have told my children as soon as they were mature enough.
They kept in touch and she knew I was named after her, though they haven’t spoken for 35 years or so. AIBU?
