DP knows more about me than me? Not...

I had a bath this morning... during the week I have a shower so I only ever have a bath when I get up on either a Saturday or Sunday morning.

Making lunch with DP and he asked if I'd had a bath and I said I had. He said "You have a bath quite often..." to which I replied that once a week didn't seem often.

When he followed this up with a comment that that wasn't true and I have them more often than once a week I was incredulous - why would I not know how many baths I have? AIBU to feel so irritated by this I've actually put it on Mumsnet? For context, we've been together over 30 years,

YABU to post on mumsnet. Tiny squabbles.

Some people just don’t notice things happening right under their noses

There wouldn't be many threads if people didn't post about tiny squabbles! Easier for the OP to let off steam here rather than let her husband have it with both barrels.

I think that there are lots of things we don't realise how often we do it until someone else points it out - however if it's really as regimented as you say then you do probably no.

CrotchBurn · 20/12/2020 16:29

Is your bog in your bathroom? If so maybe he was making a passive aggressive comment because you hogged the bathroom when he needed a dump?

For a second my brain interpreted that to mean that the husband is right and OP doesn't realise she's taking baths during the week too Grin
QualityFeet · 20/12/2020 16:30

I have just had my second off the day. I am rather hoping today might be a three bath day.

FippertyGibbett · 20/12/2020 16:33

Some people just have to be right.
Even when they’re wrong.

QualityFeet · 20/12/2020 16:33

If he came to stay here he wouldn’t think you had many baths. I think he is suffering lockdown snark.

Ghostlyglow · 20/12/2020 16:48

I'm still surprised, after 30 years, how little notice DP seems to take of me, my habits and my stuff Grin

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 20/12/2020 17:50

After thirty years, I had a heart attack after my thenDH had gone downstairs for his breakfast.

I left him shortly after coming oput of hospital when I realised that if I had not managed to get downstairs to the telephone under my own steam to ring 999, it was unlikely that he would have known anything about it until he got home for supper that night and there wasn't any.

LannieDuck · 20/12/2020 18:19

I get the annoyance, OP. He's telling you you're wrong about your own life.

partyatthepalace · 20/12/2020 19:16

I think everyone’s fed up w everyone and everything right now. Sounds like part of that.

Be irritated if you find it that big a deal but YABU to be irritated enough to start a boring thread about it.

Sod off with your attitude. It's often the tiny things that reveal bigger issues - also other posters experiences. If you find a thread boring, why would you feel compelled to do anything other than scroll by?
