To go to tier 2 today...

Expecting a beating! I’m tier 3 as my tiny hamlet (no cases) is put with the nearest city (lots of cases) a 45minute drive away.

Tier 2 is a mile walk down the back of my house, my kids go to school in tier 2. Santa is doing a sleigh drive by the school, ALL their friends were hyped to heaven on Friday at breakup to see the Santa drive by today.

If I go to school it’s fine, if I take my kids to stand on the green and watch Santa it’s illegal. It’s outside, I’m not going near any adults, will try to distance the kids (but they have been playing with all these kids in school Friday), they are good kids and will listen if I tell them to stay away.

WWYD? Feels harsh them the only ones not going...

I would go.

RNBrie · 20/12/2020 14:31

I would also go.

Figgygal · 20/12/2020 14:33

It’s not illegal just not advised
However if there’s large groups likely to be there watching is not as safe as you might think

Sosigsandwich · 20/12/2020 14:34

Absolutely go!!

nosswith · 20/12/2020 14:36

Tier 3 to tier 2 if you are remaining outside and distant is OK, but check the guidance.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 20/12/2020 14:43

I don't think it's illegal, just advised against. I'd do that if it's outdoors and you're not mixing with anyone.

Vanillaradio · 20/12/2020 14:45

It's not illegal. I would go.

DrizzleandDamp · 20/12/2020 14:50

Not the kicking I expected! Think I’m going to go but will be staying away from crowds, school is less that 100 kids so can’t imagine it will be crowds of people as no one really knows the village outside school it’s teeny tiny!

Not illegal.

Go. It's outdoors.

Personally I'd wear a mask or even a scarf as cold and pull it over my face. But that's probably because I'm extra anxious this year as my mum having chemo and although tier 2 it's frightening me about meeting her Xmas day.

whatsmyusername · 20/12/2020 15:44

It depends on your personal circumstances, interaction with other people place of work etc. We are same situation, tier 3 lumped with in with the county our postcode is connected to. The neighbouring county border which is actually

RolandSchitt · 20/12/2020 16:48

If you say you can easily socially distance, I'd go. Maybe wearing a mask to be extra safe. It doesn't sound like it'll be a place heaving with people.
