First world problem but need to try and find the answer ASAP

Got a laptop to collect from pc world (ordered and paid for in store and it’s being delivered to store and not there yet ) and 6 items to my local next store (arrived today but it closes in 10mins )

Will they be open after Boris announcement for me to collect the items or am I fucked ?

Anyone know ? Been calling both stores and cannot get anyone to answer as no doubt they are swamped
Thanks

I don’t think they know yet. I phoned Halfords earlier to ask (due to be picking up a bike for my daughters Christmas present tomorrow) and they advised we collect it tonight if we can as they don’t know what will be allowed yet.

Next were open for click and collect in the second lockdown so possibly?

Feelinglost006 · 19/12/2020 18:07

Grin thanks for making me smile on a day where I have been less than cheery! Hope you manage to get what you need.

Fuck! I need to pick up DDs bike from halfords tomorrow. It's her xmas present.

I just phoned halfords now and they said they'll still be open as they are key workers and they're providing an essential service.

Thanks to everyone who’s replied. I am still none the wiser and can find nothing online anywhere. Really hoping a main present and £300 of my money isn’t sat in a closed shop somewhere . No money left to source replacements now

Will have to improvise with letter from Santa and an IOU if needed

halfords are not key workers!!

@Sennetti

halfords are not key workers!!
Car spares could well be essential items.
Feelinglost006 · 19/12/2020 21:47

@LakieLady totally agree car parts or new inner tube for a bike or lights for it are essential safety items

@Feelinglost006 Which next?

StatisticalSense · 19/12/2020 22:04

@Sennetti
Honestly I'd consider Halfords the exact definition of an essential shop (albeit one that sells some non-essential items). There is no doubting a replacement tyre for your bike that you need to commute on or a pair of windscreen wipers or a battery for your car are essential items that can often be unexpectedly needed at short notice.

Click and collect allowed

Click and collect allowed but as predicted. Arrived at curry’s asking about my order which should have been there Saturday and told it’s not in stock and they can’t fulfil it. Apparently they have some scheme where they can give you a substitute for the same price you pay (even if it’s more expensive for them ) but very conveniently they had nothing suitable to offer me. I have had to cancel the order and now wait 7 days for a refund !!! Will never touch them again and cannot see them surviving much longer the way they are going on !
