I have never come across "get to fuck" but I see it on here quite regularly. No idea where it comes from (could Google!) but just wondered what other phrases or words have Mumsnet taught you?

I'm from Portsmouth originally so can offer : Squinny - someone who complains. I forgot when I worked away that it is a regional word and had a few puzzled faces at me.

Cocklodger and cockwomble. I've never heard those anywhere but MN.

PoppyOppy · 19/12/2020 14:31

Off you fuck, cuntychops is a favourite!

Plussizejumpsuit · 19/12/2020 14:33

Ooh I love a get to fuck. But did use it before being in here!

Disney dad. Unfortunately a much needed phrase so many shitty dads out there.

Plussizejumpsuit · 19/12/2020 14:33

Oh yes also cocklodger again a much needed word.

"No" is a complete sentence.

It's an invitation, not a summons.

BrumBoo · 19/12/2020 14:35

Many I've learned on here that have never come up in real life and I'd never say as I'd sound like a colossal arsehole.

Did you mean to be so rude (usually followed by head tilting and tinkly laugh like you're a minor psychopath).

Are you on glue?

Naice ham/chocs/going to Sainsbos/buy some sanpro

I'm sure there are plenty of others tgat I'vewiped from my mind forgotten.

@tectonicplates

"No" is a complete sentence.

It's an invitation, not a summons.

The 'no is a complete sentence' thing always reminds me of a girl I used to live with. She was so unbelievably passive aggressive, one day she'd be my best friend and the next I might ask hey want to go to the cinema and she'd just reply 'no' with a disgusted sneer and I'd spend days wondering what on Earth I'd done to annoy her this time.

So glad I don't have to live with that anymore Grin

I prefer hobosexual to cocklodger 🤣

Ducks in a row is one I've not heard much of in real life but see all the time on here.

On a vaguely related note this thread reminds me of the interview Alexandra Burke did where she thought she brought the phrase "Elephant in the room" to the UK, from America which was pretty funny.

Not my circus, not my monkeys. I should get a tattoo of this one really, it's done wonders for me.
