Fever on and off

My 3 year old came back from nursery under weather yesterday. Had a sleep but I did feel he was hot and took his temperature and he was 38.5.
He had a temp last night but was also fine and played in the afternoon after a nap.
He is still sleeping and I’ve felt him and he isn’t hot but I’m not sure what to do ? Normally if he is fine and no temp I would just send him in but now I’m not sure to keep off and does it mean self isolating ?

Keep him off.

Yes. You all need to self isolate and book a swab for him.

I'm afraid it means you get him tested and keep him (and everyone he lives with) home until you receive a negative result. If he's positive everyone in the house must continue isolating.

I would keep him at home today and see how he is later. If his temperature goes up again then get him tested, mainly just so that you know the result and can then act accordingly.

He may well just have a cold but others won’t want their dc to catch anything so close to Christmas.

Hope he feels better soon.

Of course you need to keep him off! Think about the other children and staff.

Isolate as a household and get him a test.

I know several children who have had a fever or no real symptoms for a short time and then tested positive.

Yes I would also isolate ask test.

Such a pain in the ass

NoGoodPunsLeft · 16/12/2020 07:42

As everyone else has said, all isolate & get him tested

Poorlykitten · 16/12/2020 07:43

Isolate and test.
