Covid birthday party WWYD?

Dd9 has been invited to an outdoor sports type party.
We are in Scotland in a tier 3 area.
The venue is in the adjoining, also tier 3 area.
Party host mum wants to drive them there.

So as far as I can see, they shouldn't be car sharing and shouldn't be going out of local authority area.

DH thinks it's ok, I really don't. Cue much arguing.

Would appreciate any thoughts?

It’s an outdoor party. You drive her there and problem is solved.

Its outdoors so should be OK. I would decline the car share and take her yourself

Neolara · 14/12/2020 20:20

Isn't that against the law? Outdoor party of up to 6 would be ok in tier 2 but not tier 3.

BefuddledPerson · 14/12/2020 20:21

Nope, not ok.

dementedpixie · 14/12/2020 20:26

Sports can still take place outdoors in level 3.
Shes also only 9 and that age group don't need to socially distance from each other

You've all said the things that i thought, which is reassuring!
The problem with me driving her there is that I then have to go to another LA area for a very non essential reason! It says for outdoor leisure etc it can be in another LA but only within 5 miles of "border" - this is much further.
If it was closer to home I'd have no problem with any of it i don't think. Although both areas are tier 3, our very local neighbourhood has really low numbers compared to where I'd be travelling to.
