To ask if 8 is too old for The Clangers?

Spotted the complete Clangers on DVD on Amazon, and really tempted to get it for a relative's little boys. They're aged 5 and 8. Just wondering if an 8-year-old might find it a bit childish? I'm guessing it's probably aimed at under-5s, and I don't have kids myself so I'm finding this hard to gauge. (I'd watch them all again myself and I'm 53, but that's by the by. )

Thoughts?

It’s on CBeebies, which is aimed at 6 and under. An 8 year old might glance at it if it was on, but I don’t think they’d appreciate it as a gift.

Aaahhh, useful to know it's on CBeebies, it's on all the time in their house. Back to the drawing board!
