What to get 18month old...

for Christmas?

He’s the son of my friend and my budget is about £10.
He has 2 older sisters (age 4 and 6) so the house is swimming with toys and books of all kinds.

My friend is vegan and very ethical. She buys second hand when she can and likes bamboo more than cotton because it’s more sustainable (just to give an idea).
The girls are each getting crafty stuff, but totally stuck for their little brother.

Any ideas?

If you can go up a few pounds, I'd say these: www.amazon.co.uk/infinitoo-Magnetic-Building-Construction-Edutainment/dp/B07C87XSD8/ref=sr_1_11?dchild=1&keywords=mag+shapes&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1607817303&sr=8-11

If you shop around I bet you can find a smaller set for closer to ten - I just linked to give an idea. My DD had these and adored them, and they are a toy that lasts really well and is good for quite a wide age range, so they would be good for your friend's eco principles.

Alternatively, maybe packs of seeds for him to plant? Depends on him/his mother - if she won't thank you for another job there's no point! But my brother gave DD packs of seeds one Christmas when she was rising two, and she was delighted and did understand that what grew was 'hers'.

Or a bird box/bird feeder? Same caveats about not giving the parents another job apply, but if they might like it, it could be put up by his window/somewhere he can see, so he can feel it's 'his'?

Ask her what her fave clothes shop is for the littles and get him a nice outfit. At 18m it's a gift for her really, not him.

Oh, sorry, cross-posted!

My reply was to the seconding of the greatness of the magnetic squares, not to praise of me. That made me look a bit big headed. Blush

Haha that was a funny cross post!

Yes. They're fabulous. I wish I had found out about them earlier.

Giving out 2 lots as presents this year to 2 year olds and I know they'll love them
