Has had the vaccine yet? And if so wonder why we haven’t heard about it?

I reckon they’ve both had it but they’ll wait for a wee while to tell us that. Imagine if they told us they’d had it on Friday and then Prince Philip passed away on Monday 😐 I mean... he’s a very old man so it’s risk! So I think it will be maybe in her speech ‘Philip and I were vaccinated at the beginning of December’

Yeah.
I'm her cousin, I had it too.

It's expected that HMQ and DofEd will get the vaccine (priority 2, over 80) and that there will be an announcement idc

The Independent said in an article about this that in 1957 HMQ broke the normal 'don't comment on medical matters' to let it be known that Prince Charles and Princess Anne had both received the (then brand new) polio vaccine, and that was a very successful piece of health messaging

I think you might be right about that

Butterymuffin · 12/12/2020 13:27

Isn't the speech recorded some way in advance though? Before they could possibly have had it?

I do think it would be incredibly helpful for it to be announced that she has had it. Obama, Clinton and W. Bush have all offered to have it done on camera to help take up in America.

Smallsteps88 · 12/12/2020 13:28

They mightn’t be able to have it if they have allergies or either are immuno compromised.

Yes to in advance, no to 'some way'

It varies - so it was done after the general election last year, and is often in the last week before broadcast (depending on the diary). As she's not decamping to Sandringham thus year, I should imagine there is considerable flexibility, and what with covid and end Brexit transition there's a good chance they'll be doing it as late as possible this year.

I think it’s usually recorded around about now, early to mid December ☺️

Just had a BBC pop up to say that HMQ and DofEd have been done
