To ask for advice on ds and 'frenemy'

DS is 8 met this boy aged 5 in school and got on well with him. They're in a bit of a trio which is not always easy and there's been normal ups and downs but then times when all is well too. Anyway the last while I can see from ds he's quite upset and is being left out and he says called names. Now I'm very aware ds could be giving the same back and is annoyed that it's 2 v 1 when he'd much rather be in the 2! This morning he refused to go to very favourite activity as the two have recently joined which is such a pain tbh. Anyway I jollied him along and stayed to watch for a bit of moral support and all was fine until the other boy whispered names to him as he was leaving.. I'm not sure what I should do, support ds at home, should I have spoken directly to parent on the spot or maybe call them later? Feel sad for him, he just wants to get on with school and his sport and doesn't need this.

I'd have spoken to the other parent immediately about the name calling.
Mortify the wee shite. He just got away with it right under your nose which gives him more power to continue to annoy your DS

Tell school and tell the coach/ organiser of the sport.

Santaisironingwrappingpaper · 12/12/2020 12:41

Agree to tell the coach. Ime calling out a little shit to it's dps never goes well.

Ds told coach during training and was told to tell again if continues but of course it happened as they stepped out.. I'll be more prepared next time. It would kill you.
