I recently received an order from a large department store but it was the wrong order. I emailed them immediately and got no reply, spent much of today trying to get through on the phone, finally speak to someone and explain what's after happening. I'm still missing my order which was a lot more than the value of the item I receive.
Their reply was I need to send the product back. The product I received is worth £10. It will cost that to travel, and get parking. I've done most of my shopping online to avoid shops. Aibu to think they should either wait for it, send a courier to collect it or leave it with me as a gesture of goodwill for highlighting the problem.
More just curious. I work in customer service and my mentality is sometimes it's better to make a small loss at the time than a bigger loss in the future.
