Puppy accidents at night

Hi I have a 9 week lab puppy, last week which was his first week with us he was going 11pm to 6am every night with no accidents but for the last 2 nights we have come downstairs to poo and we accidents which are not fresh. He has had the odd accident in the day but not sure how best to proceed at night. We have a baby monitor on him in case he woods or crys but he does not make a sound in to let us know he needs the loo. He sleeps in a crate but the door is not locked and we clean accidents with smell removal spray for dogs so it does not create a habit but not sure how best to proceed he gets lots of praise and treats when he goes outside to toilet but looking for advice as to how to move forward.

You need to take him out for a week at night, puppies can't go that long without going to the toilet

You maybe need to get up & let puppy out during the night.
When we got our puppy we set alarm for 3am to let him out. Their bladders are still tiny.

At 9 weeks old, he's still really young! Smile I'd carry on as you are and just not make a fuss when you're cleaning up. Our puppy was like this then suddenly 'got it' when he was about 16 weeks old Smile

I'd recommend you stock up on cheap kitchen roll too - you'll go through lots of it Xmas Smile

He's 9 weeks old. Of course he doesn't know to ask to go out yet. Either take him out in the early hours or put paper down.

There’s no chance he can go all night at that age, no idea how he managed the first week but it was a fluke, it will be a while before that happens again. You will have to set and alarm and take him out

Thank you, I have realised this is in AIBU as opposed to the doghouse!! I agree with the fluke as that lulled me into a false sense of security!!!
