To think TVs are a lot cheaper nowadays

You can easily get a 43 inch TV under £400 nowadays. And that includes the latest technology (SMART TV and 4K)

Anything under 43 inches will be a lot cheaper. I remember the days where TVs where at least £500 plus and they weren't that good.

What is the main reason for TVs been much cheaper nowadays?

Newly invented products are always more expensive because they have to recoup all the research and development costs. Once production has been going for some years and the technology is established, they can bring the price down.

I was having a clearout of a drawer the other day and I found the receipt for a basic microwave I bought in the mid 1980's. It was £169.
