Hey everyone,

I have started letrozole today after failed attempts with four months of Clomid. I am being put on 5mg letrozole has anyone had any experiences with it?

Thank you

I’m on 2.5mg for breast cancer and will be on it for 10 years. It’s rough but has the best survival rates

Hi, I have just started lectrozole today
I am a bit worried about all the negative size effects - any experiences?

Noidea2114 · 05/05/2021 23:10

I've been on Letrozole for breast cancer since February. I'm having side effects hot flushes then very cold. Also aching joints.
They have started easing now. My BCN has said that it could take a few months for the side effects to calm down.

cleanasawhistle · 05/05/2021 23:19

I had been taking Letrozole for about 2 years due to breast cancer.
Spoke to my consultant about my thinning hair,he put me back onto Tomoxifen and my hair is growing back

Can't give you too much info on here but clomid didn't work for me. Letrozole did. I think I took a higher does than that though.
I now have twins.

iminvestedinthis · 06/05/2021 12:42

@Candycrush426 will you be having monitoring scans so they can check for follicles?

squirrelnutkins1 · 06/05/2021 15:48

I got fed up of the side effects so had a month off it and fell pregnant! All the best Smile

Pcosqueen · 06/05/2021 21:54

Thank you! This is amazing to hear
It gives me hopes! @iminvestedinthis
Clomid did not work for me either I have a very hard core PCOS so hopefully letrozole 5mg can work. @squirrelnutkins1 it is always encouraging to hear stories from people who go pregnant naturally after trying all these treatments
I am having regular scans to check follicles so will see
But I have already told my pregnant that if it does not work I might take it easy and try nothing for a few months in order to have a break from side effects and crazy hot flushes and terrible mood swing too

squirrelnutkins1 · 06/05/2021 22:41

Yeah I had the hot flashes and headaches with it. It's a real rough journey and no one really understands unless they've been through it so I feel your pain. It took 27 months for us and a friend over 4 years but there are a lot of positive stories out there and Mumsnet stopped me going completely crazy as the support on here is amazing. All the very best x

Letrozole worked for us. Pregnant on month 3 of a 3 month trial. Combined this with evening primrose.

needagirlsnight · 06/05/2021 22:50

Worked 2nd month for me

Pcosqueen · 09/05/2021 23:25

@needagirlsnight amazing to hear congratulations! Did you have clomid before moving to letrozole? What dosage were you on with It? I got severe pcos so have just started letrozole 5mg for 5 days despite not having me period and I am hoping won’t have to hormones for too long...having a scan next Thursday to check if follicules growing

needagirlsnight · 10/05/2021 07:21

No I didn't have clomid before, I can't remember the dose as it was 4 years ago now (our daughter is 3Smile)

Good luck with it!!
