To block AO.com calling ahead of delivery?

So I have a delivery booked next week.

On Monday my phone rang, local number spoke to the guy who hesitantly checked a few very basic details before trying to flog me massively overpriced insurance. No thank...but all polite.

Since then this number has rang me multiple times every day. I thought it was an honest mistake so answered and told them I’d already said no. BUT THEY JUST KEEP CALLING! I’ve been ignoring but it’s getting really annoying!

Today they’ve rang 3 times. Same bloody lad! I’ve answered twice and basically told him to stop or I’ll block the number. Both times he apologised.

I’ve blocked the number now but not ideal incase they actually need to get in touch with me about something that isn’t bullshit pushy sales!

I’ve never had this with them before and it’s hugely put me off further orders!

I’d call into customer services and complain if it didn’t take 45 minutes to speak to someone!

I've had this too! Bought 3 large appliances and they'd rang me 3 times within an hour. I've bought from them before so just blocked the number. The delivery people with have your number so don't worry about that. They're a pain in the ass!!

When I had a delivery, it was the driver who rang, not the call centre/office. Just to say they were 20 mins away etc.

Email them.

CharityEscapeGoat · 04/12/2020 16:13

I'd unblock them, then formally complain next time they ring you. It's harassment.

NurseButtercup · 04/12/2020 16:13

unblock the number and put in a complaint via ao.com Twitter or Facebook or IG account.

I had this too. It pissed me off. Literally seconds after placed the order, my phone rang. Selling insurance. I thought FFS have I not paid enough.

But ao.Com are really good at coms for delivery, I use them a lot as a LL and they’ve never tried to sell me insurance then. So I wonder if it’s a recent thing.

DannyGlickWindowTapping · 04/12/2020 16:15

I ended up buying from their Amazon store because of this - Prime delivery and no calls trying to flog me insurance.

Moondust001 · 04/12/2020 16:16

I had an order a week ago. They did ring once - within five minutes of placing the order - to try to sell me insurance. I said no and that was the end of it.

Pumpertrumper · 04/12/2020 16:17

Honestly just driving me mental. Every time the phone rings it’s them!

I’m not unblocking them my sanity is more important. I just don’t understand the brazenness of being told no for the millionth time, apologising for bothering a customer, hearing they’re about to block you for harassment. THEN CALLING THEM BACK AN HOUR LATER!

Total shits!

Threaten him with a GDPR breach report for improper use of your personal data, provided for the use of delivery updates only. Usually does the trick for me.
