Would you talk to someone in the bath?

Lighthearted

Would you think it weird if your DH messaged with friends in the bath? A female (definitely just) friend

I'd be more worried about him dropping the phone in the water.

Corner13 · 03/12/2020 23:15

No, not weird, at all

WeatherwaxOn · 03/12/2020 23:15

I had a half hour chat to my sibling on the phone last week whilst they were in the bath.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 03/12/2020 23:18

I would, except I don't really go in the bath & if I did I wouldn't take my phone, because I'd drop it!

But texting/talking - fine.

I wouldn't scare anyone FaceTiming!!

HeronLanyon · 03/12/2020 23:20

I do find it weird.
Both for me and the recipient of message/chat.
Something tells me I shouldn’t give a damn but I do.
I also agree - first thought - omg it might fall in !!!

Istheyearoveryet21 · 03/12/2020 23:20

Oh I speak to everyone in the bath 🤣🤣it’s the only time I speak to friends on the phone haha

FelicityBeedle · 03/12/2020 23:31

Nothing weird about it, I’ve facetimed friends in the bath!

CounsellorTroi · 03/12/2020 23:34

I did drop a cordless handset in the bath once. It did work once it had dried out but the battery life was drastically shortened to about 10 minutes so no good for long chatty calls. Good excuse to ring off though.

IliveonCoffee · 03/12/2020 23:37

Suppose it's a nice time to chill out and have a good chat, when you're relaxing and relatively undisturbed.

Personally no, because I prefer to sit awkwardly in the bath and read. Awkwardly sat, because my bath is too long and I'm too short for me to lay down and be sufficiently propped up.
Plus the book always seems to double in size when attempting to read it one handed, and its always interesting trying to turn the page with wet fingers...

The more I think about it, the idea of having my phone and having a text session seems more appealing... whether anyone actually replied would be a different matter....

Only slightly more risky and risqué than messaging while on the loo. It's fine.

HeronLanyon · 03/12/2020 23:51

Do you know, I have never connected risky and risqué ! Thanks hernameis

CeibaTree · 03/12/2020 23:54

I always catch up with whatsapp messages in the bath - to both males and female. So no I don't think it's weird at all.

Pollypocket89 · 04/12/2020 00:05

OK I'm clearly wrong lol I don't know why but I'd feel a little weird knowing one of my male friends was naked in the bath chatting away to me

Do you normally sexualise bathtime, OP?
BackforGood · 04/12/2020 00:17

Well, if you were video calling it would be odd. Grin

But otherwise - I suppose it depends on the friend, if you were 'chatting' on the phone.
If you were messaging (texts, WhatsApp messages) then they wouldn't even know where you were.

But how would you know? I've never mentioned to anyone that I've messaged while in the bath that I am in the bath 🤷🏻‍♀️
HeronLanyon · 04/12/2020 00:17

op I agree , not wrong just odd for me.

Pollypocket89 · 04/12/2020 00:18

Oh alllll the time...!

It's hardly sexualising. I'd just feel a bit strange about it is all

I've just spent about an hour gossiping to my male friend while I was in the bath, I don't even think to find it weird, I know he's messaged me when he's been having a soak. I've never thought to ask my DH if it bothers him.

Pollypocket89 · 04/12/2020 00:19

Well I asked a make friend post dh tonight and he said he'd spoken to me while in the bath for an hour and I did find it odd. I'm not really sure why!

OP posts:
Pollypocket89 · 04/12/2020 00:20

I don't mean it in a sexual way at all when I say odd BTW

OP posts:
DeeCeeCherry · 04/12/2020 00:25

Is it a video call complete with flashing knob? Or maybe bobbing knob? Or maybe flogging his log?

If not, it's ok. Still odd though. Sounds like a bad movie

Pollypocket89 · 04/12/2020 17:26

Spoke to a female friend today and she said it's only weird if they bring up they're in the bath so I guess it's just me!
