I’ve been having horrible pains in my neck every time I drink something cold for the last 18 months. I had to see a GP in the end for the neck / throat pain as I also started to get recurrent chest infections, sinusitis and tonsillitis.

I haven’t been entirely honest with anyone about how long this has been going on for - I just figured it would go away on its own. But it hasn’t.

I finally have an appointment with an ENT consultant this week but it’s been going on for so long, I’m so scared it’s going to be something bad and I feel sick that I left it so long.

I feel for you.
I am sure many people have been ignoring things this year.
I hope it is all ok when you are seen.

I can understand why you’re worried and I would be the same, thinking it would eventually go away. You’ve done the right thing to get referred and you can now be honest with ENT. The more info they have the better they can treat you. I went to the dr with a breast lump. Turns out to be a cyst and not at all a problem. But it felt a bit scary getting referred in the first place. Hope all works out well.

@singtanana that must have been scary! I’m glad all was ok for you.

I’m going to write the timeline down for the consultant I think to make sure I cover everything.

@Paul72 thanks - you’re bang on - any other time I would have made an appointment and got it looked at much sooner.
