What’s the point in taking these anymore?

I’m on 200mg of sertraline, have propropanol for anxiety and are seeing a counsellor yet I still get anxious, still can’t concentrate, have no motivation, tired all the time. I’ve had blood tests, iron is borderline but that’s all that flagged up.

What’s the point in drugging myself up when I see no change?

I have being eating more processed foods and drinking alcohol, could that be the reason why?

I just feel stuck and have no ooomph to change it.

How borderline is your iron?
I had very low ferritin 6 and was investigated for heart problems (palpitations) felt dreadful, saw therapist etc and then had iron infusions and felt amazing, all the anxiety and mental health issues were gone within a month

My iron goes up and down due to my heavy periods, it’s being really low in the past and I was ok just tired. Can’t remember the exact number but it was nearly normal

Have you tried different ADs. Citalopram did nothing for me, fluoxetine has been a game changer? I do lots of excercise, try to eat well and get plenty of daylight in the winter months as I suffer with SAD. I’ve not managed to cut out alcohol but keep it to a minimum.

You need to cut out alcohol.
When I used to drink I’d feel very low for a few days afterwards and now that I’ve stopped I feel happy and positive much more frequently. I know it’s not that simple but overhauling my lifestyle and living healthier made huge impact on improving my mental health.

Alcohol makes my anxiety 100 times worse the next day, it's technically a depressant I think? Anyway, if my anxiety is bad I avoid it completely and personally feel it makes a positive difference.

I've never taken sertraline, but my friend has and had withdrawal symptoms when she stopped taking them, I'd speak to your GP before doing anything, and don't suddenly stop taking them.

I'm like a zombie if my iron drops it's awful. Did they check b12? I also have to drink lots water to combat fatigue
