want alternative ways to respond to texts

I am notoriously bad at responding to texts. I never know what to say apart from ' oh that's good' and I know that sounds awful. If I have to reply I'll use the go-to 'cool' (that's good)', 'lol' (when I'm slightly amused), 'haha' (for 'yea') or 'okay' (just to acknowledge). Occasionally I might send the odd emoji or :) ;) etc but blah.
Apart from k, hahahaha etc what other ways are there to acknowledge and end a text or SMS conversation?
Also what ways do you use to say when someone tells you they've done something and you're not a bit interested or impressed but you need to reply, again a 'that's good' type of thing.
I know you're all wondering how/why I have any friends at all and I should change my name to bah humbug, but there it is! haha lol :) ;) Smile

Use the power of your mind. Guidance available from any number of very spiritual persons on the net.

Oh I feel your pain!! I end up overthinking this kind of thing for so long that it then feels too late to reply!!

@HUCKMUCK
that's me too - if I leave it too long then it's even worse just to put 'haha'

As a general rule the more thought you put into this the worse the response is likely to be. Less is more.

If you don't really like text, don't force it: nothing wrong with the responses you've suggested. Nothing worse than someone trying too hard.

It's the bloody x at the end of the thing that gets me. I keep forgetting it.

MyOwnSummer · 30/11/2020 15:59

Thumbs up?

Onmyright · 30/11/2020 16:16

I usually thumbs up when it comes to a natural end

My ex husband gets an 👌 especially when he is being a knob

My MIL puts a few kisses. Not going to lie, I found it really odd to start with, but it shows she’s read the message and we’re all good!

I tend to just leave conversations that don’t need a reply, I don’t think I’m annoying people everywhere... you could use one of the emoji reacts if everyone is on iPhone? Thumbs up or whatever?
