Hi
Sorry posting for traffic I am 32 and a bit weeks pregnant I didn’t know I was until 30 weeks.
This evening when I have leaked in underwear enough to change 3 time’s but not gushing if that makes sense.
I am in no pain and feel ok in myself.
My DP is at work and isn’t answering his phone 🙈 I rang for advice and they have said to come up to be checked. 2 kids are not allowed in though !
I am going to continue to ring DP and go straight there when I can but if I haven’t felt any pain / contractions is it unlikely to be Labour right ?

Please ring your midwife.

Your waters can go without any contractions and given how early you are it’s really important that you are seen by the midwife.

Rhayader · 28/11/2020 23:03

Leave kids with a friend/neighbour. It’s a medical emergency.

LittleBearPad · 28/11/2020 23:04

Waters tend to smell like hay. Sorry tmi but give them a sniff and then call your midwife.

Nicknacky · 28/11/2020 23:06

What time does your H finish work? Do you have an alternative contact number?

Whattheactual20201 · 28/11/2020 23:06

I have called sorry if I didn’t explain that properly and I am going in to be checked, I can’t take kids to hospital so trying to get hold of DP.

If your waters have broken even slightly, they will be worried about infection getting in.
Mine did this - at 39 weeks - it was just a constant dribble and not a gush - and I was sent home with instruction to come back first thing in the morning for induction. Obviously they won't be so keen to induce at 30 weeks.
Not sure if they can reseal themselves - perhaps someone more qualified than me will be along soon. I do think you need to get proper attention from a Doctor though, as soon as you can. Good luck.

@LittleBearPad

I think you're being very polite! Sperm, jizz, cum; that's what they smell like!
Racoonworld · 28/11/2020 23:10

Is there anyone you can leave your kids with? You really need to go and get checked

ColdNovemberNights · 28/11/2020 23:13

While you wait, pack a bag for you and a bag for baby if you havent already
Snacks, drinks, and a phone charger, a book or an ipad and charger too !

Sounds like your waters....
Go prepared !

Who is looking after your children while tour in labour?
I would give them a ring to prepare them

Whattheactual20201 · 28/11/2020 23:13

He has answered and going to just tell his boss and then come home !
I will go straight there once he gets here
I can not leave daughter with neighbours unfortunately as she is attached to her tubes.

Have you packed a bag for you and baby?

User27aw · 28/11/2020 23:19

It could be waters breaking. Mine broke as the first symptom of labour at 35 and 36 weeks. I believe its common to start this way in prem labour. Good luck, glad dp is on his way home.

LouiseTrees · 28/11/2020 23:26

I hope he gets back soon. You mentioned your sister the other day, could she get their quicker or help you pack a bag?

Whattheactual20201 · 28/11/2020 23:27

@ColdNovemberNights I have just quickly packed a bad

@LouiseTrees my sisters I think my sister is on shift in a maternity ward 🙈- she isn’t answering either.

He shouldn’t be long.

I have a over night bag incase.

Thank you guys I’m really nervous.

Good luck OP Flowers I think sometimes your hind waters can go, so not always straight into labour. I may be remembering this wrong, though 🙈

ColdNovemberNights · 28/11/2020 23:33

Is she working in the ward your going to?

greyinganddecaying · 28/11/2020 23:34

Glad your DP is heading back. Always need to get checked out if you may be leaking waters.

Waters can leak then "reseal", so it doesn't mean you're necessarily going into labour, but if you do 32 weeks is a good gestation.

Good luck

LittleBearPad · 28/11/2020 23:39

No TickTick they’re too sweet smelling for those.

Hope all is ok OP

Whattheactual20201 · 28/11/2020 23:40

@TickTickClock I don’t know why but I feel like it smells sort of like sugar puffs that’s the only way I can describe the smell.

LouiseTrees · 28/11/2020 23:43

Get your 13 year old to help a bit while you wait.

greyinganddecaying · 29/11/2020 09:35

Hope all is ok OP

ColdNovemberNights · 29/11/2020 17:21

How are you OP?

Dillo10 · 29/11/2020 17:54

Jesus Christ ring your midwife, what is wrong with you? Do you really believe you're going to get a conclusive answer to a medical question on MN? Especially about something as high risk and important as a pregnancy.
