To wonder about school close contacts at lunch

Y7 DD has been told to isolate but she isn't in any of the same classes as the girl who tested positive, they only see each other at lunch in their year group bubble..

DD doesn't remember if she had lunch with the girl on the days in question, so has the school just gone on the word of the Covid +ve student?

Do they do anything like check who went through the till either side of the affected pupil, I wonder, to identify who they were near in the lunch queue?

If she sometimes has lunch with her and isn't sure about those days, then going with what the other child says makes sense.

If your daughter thinks it's unlikely they were together other than in passing, it might be worth querying - it's possible there's been a confusion (another child with the same first name who the child couldn't remember surname of, maybe?).

They ask the student to name close contacts outside of lessons.
