Would you bother or just leave it?
If you knew someone was claiming to be an occasional driver but was actually the main driver.
Is it even taken seriously?

Why would you report it, and to whom? What has it got to do with you? It's none of your business is it?

sprockerdiles · 23/11/2020 17:13

Is this illegal? I have my Dad as a named driver on my insurance even though he has never been in my car, makes it cheaper

harryhhh · 23/11/2020 17:15

I think it's illegal but not sure if it can even be proven I guess

Why- because it’s illegal To who- insurance fraud investigators

If they have an accident and their insurers find out, they won’t pay out and some poor innocent third party will be screwed.

Daphnise · 23/11/2020 17:20

Just leave it, and find something a bit more worthwhile to do with your time.

ExclamationPerfume · 23/11/2020 17:24

@sprockerdiles that is not illegal. It is having the main driver as an additional driver that's illegal. If they get caught they might not pay out on the insurance if they need to claim.

Corrag · 23/11/2020 17:25

I think we should have a "beak out" emoji on this site. I'm sick of typing it.

JorisBonson · 23/11/2020 17:26

Why would you bother?? Get a hobby.

That's not the same thing as what OP is referring to, though.

If there’s an accident do they cover the affected third party but not the policy holder? Like drink drivers?

lyingwanker · 23/11/2020 17:41

Get a life. Is this really all you have in your life to get worked up about. Who gives enough of a shit about who's name is first on their own car insurance policy?

Benefit fraud and COVID reporters wind me up enough on here but this takes the award for the most pathetic reason to grass someone up I have ever read.

ShakeitDown · 23/11/2020 17:49

I’ve just read the Christmas postage stamp thread and now this. The weirdos are out today.

Elai1978 · 23/11/2020 18:13

Absolutely report. People who commit insurance fraud are fucking scum and the reason the rest of us have to pay higher premiums.
