Or am I just crap at being pregnant?

Currently 10+3 with number 2.

I have the expected nausea/vomiting..etc but luckily not as bad as with DS.

But I can’t stop salivating, it’s constant I have to carry a travel mug around with me and fill it 2/3 times a day. I have near constant gas. I burp so much feels like I can’t breath. I also have acid reflux but I only ever get it whilst pregnant and it doesn’t seem to be triggered by diet.

I’m pretty slim and right now the only things I can eat are plain bread/potato/oatmeal/oven chips/vegetables/bananas/cereal, and all in small amounts. Super plain food, nothing fried, fatty or in any eat spicey. Taking rennie or gaviscon makes the gas totally unbearable and so does Omeprazole.

I have to sleep sat up right at a 90 degree angle with a towel around my chest as I drool buckets in my sleep and soak it through. It’s disgusting, not to mention it’s killing my back.

I find it really hard to believe this is how most women experience pregnancy. It can’t be normal, GP/midwife shrug their shoulders now as tried everything when I was having DS. Nothing worked. Am I just crap at being pregnant? Or are others just really stoic at hiding their suffering?

I’ve got HG and been off for 10 weeks including being hospitalised. I feel you OP, being pregnant is crap.

Sorry, I think I got off very light. Constant nausea and could barely eat, was tired all the time. I'm 16 weeks now and feel great, I have to rest regularly as I get stomach ache but I'm full of energy, getting loads done.

It sounds really shit what you're going through but it wont last forever. Make sure you're taking iron supplements if you're barely eating though.

@Funkypolar

I had HG with DS and it was miserable I do sympathise. I thought the HG caused all these other symptoms though whereas this time I wouldn’t say I’ve had HG just nausea/vomiting. But all the other stuff is still raging on!

If anything the saliva is worse, it’s started much much earlier this time!

Feel for you , had the same with my pregnancies , especially the last one with DD 2 , had to carry around a sports bottle and like you spit in it all day , sickness all the way through , horrendous, do not miss that at all but yes think it's just luck of the draw , I know some women who haven't had any sickness/nausea at all.

We are ttc number 3 now and really hoping I don't have the saliva thing again

Oh god I remember this with DS. I had a tissue in pocket at all times. It peaked about 12 weeks and then got gradually better. Chewing gum and mints helped a little.
