To twat my neighbour over the head

With his fucking guitar?

Every time I think I'm going to get half an hour of peace and quiet, it starts. Loud as fuck - electric guitar, plugged into an amp accompanied by screamo style shouting/wailing. He is fucking awful at it.

WIBU to crack him over the head with the fucking guitar?

They are moving soon (thank fuck) so not sure there's any point in complaining.

i'd have gone into psycho mode after the first time of hearing it tbh, i've a very short fuse with twats. glad he's clearing out soon.

FannysSteadiedBuffs · 18/11/2020 18:00

We had a drummer over the road who could drum for hours. Like, 4 hours at a time.

Detached houses, double glazing, big road - could still hear it.

This eejit lives directly below me so there's no escaping it. He has always played the guitar at the weekend for a couple of hours, early evening which was annoying but I could put up with it - everyone has to have rime to enjoy their hobbies. But in the past few months he has turned the volume up, increased the frequency to about 3 times a week or more and started "singing" at the top of his voice.

He has a gf and a 1yo, I feel for them.

Play bagpipe music loudly at the same time

Elvesinquarantine · 18/11/2020 18:27

Play some Celine Dion.
My heart will go on should be satisfying...

jetadore · 18/11/2020 18:28

Leave it if he's moving, but before he does, if the opportunity arises, make sure you let him know, in no uncertain terms, that he's shite at it.

Cherrysoup · 18/11/2020 18:32

If he’s moving soon, I’d give him a (very short as he has a 1 year old) blast of death metal or classical, possibly some throat singing?

This sounds like it's a retaliation tbh...

A retaliation to what? I'm out of the house 10 hours a day, DS is 11 and past the stage of running around inddors/being noisy. We are not a noisy household, I'm sure of that.

God I love twat being used as a verb. For that alone I say DO IT.

golddustwomen · 20/11/2020 07:15

Everyone thinks they are quiet😁 Myself included.

It was a thought because it sounded like he played only when things quieten down in yours.

We honestly are though. I'm sure there's the odd time where they can hear DS on the Xbox or my washing machine spinning, but there is genuinely no excessive noise!
There has been complete silence in my house this morning as everyone is having a lie in. Other than me boiling the kettle and letting the cat out, no-one has moved but the wailing started just a few minutes ago accompanied by CD music, thankfully not the guitar yet.
