Just to say my dd interchanges things with playmobile and sylvanian families.. They are about the same size so some stuff crosses over. Lidl sometimes do bits of both.

SoMuchToBits · 12/11/2020 17:45

Ooh, which café are you after?

IPeedInThePool · 12/11/2020 18:10

This thread has made me very nostalgic for playmobil. I never had any but a friend had loads, my very best days were play dates at her house!

SoMuchToBits · 12/11/2020 18:38

Ah, we have that café!

IPeedInThePool · 12/11/2020 18:38

Yep I never had any as a child but always wanted some. We did have a small pirate ship a few years ago but it was lost in a sea of toys and they were far too young for it. Now they play the most lovely imaginary games together they are currently on a ship in the living room staying away from the sharks (on the rug) 😂

With all the little parts the playmobil is going to be like Lego. Before the Lego comes out, every toy they are playing with goes away so Lego can come out and all goes straight back into its own big box.

What’s it like standing on playmobil bare foot is it as bad as Lego 😂

The cafe looks a nice set think I will put it near the park. And have the cabin in “the woods” then through the trees ....past the fisherman... to the park am more excited than the kids will be!

@ SoMuchtoBits - might we have a Playmo Christmas to look forward to?
Pleeeease!

SoMuchToBits · 12/11/2020 20:31

@Katinski I probably won't be able to do a Christmas themed Playmo thread this year for the following reasons:-

a) I've used up most of my ideas the last 2 years!
b) Many of the things that would normally work can't happen in a pandemic.

But I am thinking of maybe getting a few new bits and extending the pandemic thread (which I haven't added to for some time) and this may include the odd Christmas themed day as we get into December. I'll see what I can come up with!

@IPeedInThePool Playmobil isn't too bad if you stand on it unless it's those tiny connecting plugs for the buildings etc! I'm afraid our Playmo collection has long got past the stage where it will fit into "a box". I have a whole summer house full of boxes...

LasagneLady · 12/11/2020 21:20

My niece had the pyramid, it's full of secret hiding places so good fun. It was second hand though even then so not sure how easy it would be to get.

HugeAckmansWife · 12/11/2020 23:11

My dd loves it. She plays with my now 40yo stuff and her own. Mostly knights / castles or animal related. She takes it into the bath and plays hour long imaginary games. We've recreated the Battle of Agincourt and uploaded for her distance learning, we've done Henry VIII choosing a new wife. All brilliant. Also one set involved her building plumbing to make the shower bit work (she's 9). When it didn't work first time we had to learn about vacuums and water pressure. It's brilliant. But whatever you buy, have an enjoyable Xmas eve with G&T in hand building it, unless they are old enough to participate and enjoy the process. The bastard Castle took me about 3 hours!!!

katmunchkin · 12/11/2020 23:15

Ooh we've hundreds and thousands of bits of Playmobil under the bed, going to get it on eBay!

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 12/11/2020 23:16

I've just boxed up and put away all DS2s playmobil. This is making me want to get it all out again Grin

SoMuchToBits · 12/11/2020 23:26

Get it all out again. Play with it. That's what it's for.

Ds is now almost 20, I still get out his Playmobil and other stuff I have added and make scenes.

SoMuchToBits · 12/11/2020 23:42

Oh dear. I've just bought a second hand school on eBay. It will go with some of the sets we already have. Happy days! :-)

IPeedInThePool · 13/11/2020 07:24

Yep kat get it on eBay it really holds it’s value and sells well by the sounds of it.

I’ve also bid on an apple orchard, little tree surgeon man with trees, a goat milking man? With a few goats trees etc and a bird feeding man with birds and trees.

I have not just ordered a unicorn set the Forrest just became a magic one 😂

SoMuchToBits · 13/11/2020 09:09

That's the great thing about Playmobil though - you can mix different themes to make whatever you want! We have mostly very real life type sets, but then have a very fairy tale type royal family! Grin

If I had the space I would in a heartbeat!

Agree about mixing sets. Mary and Joseph, when not being parents of the son of God, regularly helped the bin men, worked at the local pool and helped keep the park clean Grin

Sosages · 13/11/2020 09:36

Our most used playmobil is the swimming pool. 5 years and still a firm favourite. In the house in winter and in the garden in spring/summer with real water or orbeez

SoMuchToBits · 13/11/2020 09:57

I love the idea of Mary and Joseph helping the bin men! Grin

IPeedInThePool · 13/11/2020 10:42

I forgot I bid on a pool aswell I’m winning too 🙈
