To ask for Forex success stories

Inspired by this trending thread, I really want to know.

I thought forex was a thing of the past, but it seems that people are still plugging forex trading and forex trading info sessions as a means to get rich.

It seems that people are still being taken in by them. Is it likely that some people are genuinely making good money from it? Or is it all a scam?

My ex FiL lost so much money on these courses. And dragged ex SiL into it with him as she got into selling the courses after been seen as "so special" when on the course.
Its just a type of MLM I think

Is it simply standard currency movement gambles? It's one of many ways to risk money for reward, not sure why it's more attractive than any other way.

People considering doing one of these courses need to consider, if it was such an easy money-maker, why would the course teachers be teaching it instead of just sitting back and watching the money roll in?

For people who work in the field, it is possible to make a lot of money from trading, it's also possible to lose a lot of money.

Agree with @FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue

If you (general you!) are so skilled at investing then investing your spare money in derivatives or picking individual shares is not how to make big bucks. Go to an investment management company and get a job as a hedge fund manager and get paid £££££ to manage others’ money.

There’s a reason those who manage funds and stock select get paid loads and have years of training, it’s an incredibly risky job and you can lose money easily.

Anyone who invests in forex (or anything tbh!) needs to understand it is a gamble and any win is due to luck, not skill.

An advert for a trading/Forex site said that 76% of people using the site lose money.

Not for the amateurs/gamblers

The only success stories are from trained professionals; every FB, Insta etc course is a scam, the posts are from people who are paid to reel in victims by projecting high value life styles. See the BBC docu on iPlayer on this very subject. Do not entertain it at all.
