Coat for the park fairly stylish??

What do you wear? I forked out on a boden Parker as I am dealing with 3 toddlers. Other mums look more stylish however.

What do you wear when on duty with the kids?

Thinking a black one May be more chic?

Wear something that is warm and comfortable and have fun with your kids x

MiniMum97 · 08/11/2020 03:08

Abs if you are still pushing a buggy, make sure it has a hood.

BikeRunSki · 08/11/2020 03:35

Didrikson’s parkas often come up on these threads.

mollypuss1 · 08/11/2020 09:17

Eh?

Fluffybutter · 08/11/2020 09:20

Why do you need to look “chic” at the park?
I’m assuming this is a piss take

emilybrontescorsett · 08/11/2020 09:22

Sobriety about stylish. But something warm and practical. You will not look stylish if you are freezing to death trust me.

emilybrontescorsett · 08/11/2020 09:23

Don't worry not sobriety.

Imapotato · 08/11/2020 09:28

I’d go for something warm with pockets, to quickly be able to stash gloves and hats in as the children discard them. I’ve never given more thought to it than that. But then, I’m not overly stylish.

moronseverywhere1 · 08/11/2020 09:30

You'll probably get the replies you're looking for in style and beauty rather than AIBU, op.

LizaE · 08/11/2020 09:32

If I had to stand around in a park in winter I'd not give a toss about looking stylish but get one of those long puffa coats, that look like duvets. I'd get a fitted one though if I wanted to look a bit better.

The best coat I've ever had was a trespass one, if you want warmth.

CrazyOldBagLady · 08/11/2020 09:33

I like my seasalt one, it looks OK and it's warm and waterproof. It's usually covered in mud however, and I'm not sure I'd go do far as to call it chic. Maybe you should ask the mums whose coats you like where they got them from? Personally I don't like black but go for it if that's what you like.

Tunnocks34 · 08/11/2020 09:34

I just have like a tan coloured Reiss coat that I’ve had for three years. It is wool, but very durable. Probably looks more formal than I actually use it for, as often I wear it over a hoodie.

user1493494961 · 08/11/2020 09:35

I suppose it could be a definition of being middle class, looking chic and stylish at the park.

SamVimesFavouriteDragon · 08/11/2020 09:51

I'd post on style and beauty, they'll be much more helpful Grin I have a barbour jacket and a cosy jumper underneath and that's perfect for me - not everyone's idea of stylish I know! I also wear thermals if I know I'll be outside all day

LadyEloise · 08/11/2020 09:57

There are a couple of threads ( as usual at this time of year ) in Style and Beauty relating to stylish, warm and waterproof coats.

midnightstar66 · 08/11/2020 09:57

I have a very cozy joules long puffer style with fur collar and good trim for dry days and a 3 in one waterproof for wet ones which admit isn't stylish but I'd rather be dry. You can get similar very warm michael kors puffer style in tk max . Alternatively the 'amazon coat' is on my radar for playground duty at work as it pops open to become wider so can layer countless amounts under it.

Toddlerboozerepeat · 08/11/2020 21:54

Apologies thought I was on style and beauty! Yes it’s important to be warm but I have less and less places to Try and be stylish! Currently spending 85% of life in a muddy park

No parka has ever bern stylish, Boden or otherwise. But they keep you warm and dry, so who cares?

NiceandCalm · 09/11/2020 00:26

I've got this exact one by Dare2Be. It's so warm and stylish. Washes well. Best coat I've had. I've always gone for black in the past but this one is a dusky shade of pink, not too girly.
