To buy from "furniture and choice"

Hello all

Moving in 2 weeks and currently don't have a sofa. We've found one at Furniture & Choice which looks great, good price & available now.

I haven't ever heard of them, though, so unsure whether they're legit.

www.furniturechoice.co.uk

Have any of you shopped there?!

Ha. Sadly not! We'd booked one to be delivered from Sofology, and they emailed last week to say because of "COVID delays", the delivery date was pushed back indefinitely. So we cancelled it.

we're now just so so keen to not be without a sofa for months when we get into our new home. But also it's a big purchase so don't want to buy from a dodgy place if it isn't legit 😩

And reviews online seem mixed. I also never really know whether to believe reviews or whether companies can just write them themselves 🙈 so just wanted some real experiences!

They have terrible reviews on Trustpilot, that’s usually my first port of call for checking companies out.

Can I just check where you saw this? I'm seeing reviews of 4.6 average on Trustpilot, but then 1.8 on Reviews.io. Thats why I came here really as those are so polar opposite 😩

I saw them on truspilot.io and they reference the business changing names, so I think it’s the same one. There are other companies out there, I wouldn’t take the risk.

OMG op, we ordered from Sofology in August, was due to be delivered last Tuesday after waiting 11 weeks, they then told me that one of the sofas was damaged and we'd have to wait another 17 weeks to get it! Shocking service!!
Never heard of furniture and choice before but our experience with Sofology has really out me off sofa shopping!!!

Not ordered from them personally but my sister has. She ordered a dining table and chairs, no problem with delivery and the items themselves are exactly as they looked online and pretty good quality for the money she paid. She paid with PayPal just to be safe and because it's easier to get money back.

This the time of year when many people are buying new sofas and chairs. Check freecycle or freegle (still running) and see what is on offer. I have a gorgeous Laura Ashley chair sofa. Both freebies.

Have you checked that they have a UK address and company online on their website?

Check it against Companies House.

We have recently taken delivery of a bed from them. It wasn’t a fortune and after putting it together we are really please. Took 10 weeks to be delivered by two very nice men. They kept us informed throughout.

It was packaged brilliantly and the instructions were easy. There was even a sturdy cute little screwdriver with an end cap included with the fixings and a label with staff numbers for who was responsible for making different sections of the bed.

I was very impressed for the £400 price tag. It looks lovely and is very comfy and the fabric is great quality.

If the sofas are manufactured in the same factory I would give it a go. As it is I would use them again.

But check delivery times as some items are 16 weeks or more.

I've had a divan and a sofa from here and they are definitely a real company!

I got a sofa from this shop and unfortunately the leather peeled within months. As I took out Staingards insurance I could after a fight get a replacement. I didnt want another sofa but I couldnt get a refund. I had to pay to dispose of the old sofa. Would not get a sofa from Furniture & Choice ever again

Be careful, Can't be trusted, no Responsibilities.

I had a personal loss of £580,00 due to taking 4 days off unpaid annual leave because of 4 delivery failures of Furniture and Choice company.

They did not take any responsibility for the failed delivery and agreed to give me £50,00 of goodwill.

After weeks of stress because most of the items were delivered with damage and the table had no replacement, I had to return everything and they could not even honour the £50,00 they promised in the first instance. I had a terrible experience with Furniture and Choice company and would never recommend it to anyone.
