Didn't even realise it was slightly open and things have started to defrost do I need to throw everything out now?!

No!! Don’t throw it all out. Check everything and anything still frozen will be fine.

Meat can be cooked and refrozen.

This happened to me yesterday!! The bits at the front were a tiny bit defrosted so I have cooked them up. The rest was fine.

I would just shut the door. Anything that has stayed under 3 degrees can be refrozen according to food hygeine regs. So as long as its still fridge cold in there it will be fine.

If raw meat is defrosted you might have to have an evening of cooking and then refreeze the cooked dishes tomorrow. Things like frozen veg would be ok I think to refreeze. Unless it’s all soggy I’d inspect it as most of it will probably still be frozen.
