...on MN who's clicked on a thread with a rather normal but slightly vague title (e.g 'I guess we'll never know') and sees something that looks like this:

Poster 1: Of course you can. Meet you at the bre. Also sideways left rightly now but tell me something.

Poster 2: Ooh...sounds about right.

Poster 3. Agree. Cat's in the fridge. Next day is mine together sure.

Poster 4. Aye. Pillar.

...And on it goes for pages and pages.

Me:

Thinks " What have I walked into alternate? Alternate reality? Someone please tell me what's going on here? Is it a show? Friends on MN with their own thread? Some sort of inside joke or story? Who are these people? There's absolutely no context".

Is it just me? Please tell me I'm not seeing things.

@itsbeen84years It’s all complete nonsense and means nothing. I can see why people take part in these threads now though- it’s quite a powerful feeling knowing you’re in on something that others aren’t.
