To say please no more schools threads. It's doing a lot more harm than good.

I know we can not click on them etc. But really this has been going on for weeks now. They're all exactly the same and end in a massive slanging match where teachers bash parents and parents bash teachers. This pandemic is absolutely crap for EVERYONE. All these to threads are doing is stirring up resentment and quite honestly making things worse. I think it's causing both parents and teachers to dig their heels in and will actually make us less likely to find a solution. It's just turned into them against us.

So you’ve started a thread about schools to ask that no-one else posts a thread about schools? 🤷‍♀️

Another one sick of them, schools may stay open, they may close, us arguing about it isn’t going to make a jot of difference. Some threads turn very nasty indeed.

BefuddledPerson · 01/11/2020 17:54

I don't think you will be able to stop people posting about one of the biggest issues facing parents right now though?

I agree it all gets a bit heated but that's because it really matters I guess.

grassisjeweled · 01/11/2020 17:54

Agreed.

LastGoldenDaysOfSummer · 01/11/2020 17:57

No one has to read them.

Prisonbreak · 01/11/2020 18:07

Ironic....

Teachers bash parents. I'm both.

Parents bash teachers. Amazing that they let us near their kids then really?

It's a conundrum.

Ylvamoon · 01/11/2020 18:23

Ahh OP I love a good slanging match! This is the internet after all!
So please don't stop them.

I doubt Boris & Co will read through MN for inspiration on his next move!

DenimDrift · 01/11/2020 18:23

should really be in the coronavirus section...

Susanwouldntlikeit · 01/11/2020 18:24

Do you started another one...

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 01/11/2020 18:30

Ooh yes. Let’s have a thread about things we think other people shouldn’t start threads about.

Definitely no more weight loss threads, those just make me depressed.
No threads about how your 2-month-old can read and does this mean they’re clever.
Definitely no threads about celery, pointless horrid vegetable.

Any more?

[for the avoidance of doubt, start threads about what you like, no one has to read or reply]

CarrieBlue · 01/11/2020 18:36

Op, you comment on and start an awful lot of ‘school’ threads - maybe scroll on by yourself?

SomewhereEast · 01/11/2020 18:38

I wish everything Covid-related was instantly booted to the Coronavirus section TBH.

@WinterWalking that reminded me of the friends episode - ‘they don’t know that we know they know we know’ 😂
