A group on facebook that I'm in.

Have never been accused of transphobia before and like to think I'm a tolerant and inclusive person. Quite socked and wondering if I am in the wrong here?

I've seen "what you learned in school biology" come up a lot. If the person disagreeing with you genuinely thinks that trans people are intersex she is being offensive to both groups simultaneously.
But there is honestly no point engaging.

Obviously not transphobia and they are talking a massive load of crap. Mix of chromosomes? What mix of chromosomes means you can give birth other than X and X? People with sex chromosome variants are sterile, almost all of the time. Having said that I would absolutely not bother to engage, you’ve said your bit clearly and there is obviously nothing else you could say to this admin person which they would accept. It’s a religion. You can’t argue with faith based beliefs that have no grounding in biological fact. That’s why they ban people so often, they really need that echo chamber to bolster their beliefs.

Anyone who brings intersex people into their trans arguments need to be directed towards intersex groups and charities. From my experience, most intersex people are not at all impressed being brought into TRAs arguments using their bizarre idea of what biology is.

Otherwise, don't engage. So many people blur the line between sex and gender, much like any other 'beliefs vs fact' argument. It's exhausting trying to argue with uneducated numpties who refuse to acknowledge a difference.

Sympathies OP. My DP posted how much we were enjoying re-watching Black Books. The kick off because one of the writers has been involved in the trans debate was something to behold. Makes me want to beat my own brains out sometimes. We still think Black Books is funny. We're just not allowed to say it publicly.

Gender and ID politics are exactly that, a new age religion. Just as the world is moving on from the religions of old, it shows humanity just can't cope unless they have some sort of belief system that defies all logic (or gives girls and women any respect and autonomy over their own bodies).

This intersex thing is nonsense. Sex is not a spectrum. Claiming that the rare example of an intersex human demonstrates a spectrum is akin to saying that because occasionally someone is born with six toes that the number of toes a human has is on a spectrum. They are being ridiculous but it's a faith based belief, so you are on a hiding to nothing.

You're right. Humans are not seahorses or clownfish and cannot change sex. Only people with mature female reproductive systems can get pregnant and give birth, regardless of gender identity.
