DH and I recently moved house and so I went online to purchase furniture. I wanted more that matched some drawers we already owned from Wayfair - but Wayfair was out of stock of the rest of the range. I found it somewhere else for a bit more money but it was worth it to get it sooner.
I paid almost £800 and received an email confirming my order and another email saying not to hesitate to contact if I have any problems. After a week, I'd heard nothing else and nothing had arrived and I started to get anxious. I messaged on their web chat - no response. A week later with still no contact, I emailed. No response. I then checked their google and yell reviews - and there was a 50/50 split of (what I think are) fake reviews and reviews that talk of exactly the same experience I received.
I emailed again and eventually got a reply saying they don't have my furniture in stock - it might be in next month! So, I said to cancel my order because I only ordered from them because the cheaper and reputable retailer was out of stock! The business emailed back to tell me not to be rude and that if I want good customer service, I should've gone somewhere with better reviews. They essentially said I should've gone elsewhere because they don't do their job well!

I posted a review and they've just emailed me again and said "Thank you for the review, it shows a lot about you as a person! I understand you better as a person now! And another thing, keep your thoughts to yourself please."

Screenshot everything for a start. Just in case they claim to have "been hacked" when their business tanks.

Personally I wouldn't waste time with Trading Standards.

Did you pay by credit card ? I'd be starting a claim with my card provider.

Well what is the company name so that others can be warned. You could at the very least make that known.

I agree, name and shame so that others don't have the same experience

How did you pay? Could you do a chargeback?

You've go to kind of admire customer service so bad that's it's almost good Smile

Alls well then. Let the fun commence.

Having browsed on by the Google reviews ... well this could go viral if CCHQ get wind of it. Anything to distract from the real news.

satnighttakeaway · 23/10/2020 16:01

I've had a look at their facebook page, the photos of the stock aren't even ones they've taken they look like they've been lifted from a catalouge or some other website.

Tbh it looks cheap and nasty although the Corona bedside drawers are a bargain price Grin

SBTLove · 23/10/2020 16:04

£800? that’s a lot of drawers! Stick with Ikea 😉

We have an IKEA right near us but the one set we really liked the drawers for had sliding doors for the wardrobe which I personally just don't like. Also, I wanted a set from IKEA for my son and had it all planned out and then they discontinued the range right before I was going to order (didn't want to order too soon before we moved in) so I'm grumpy with them haha

ChaChaCha2012 · 23/10/2020 16:33

Trading Standards don't take reports from individuals. You can call the Consumer Helpline and they'll log it and pass it to TS if they get multiple reports.

I'd focus on getting your money back. How did you pay?

Try reading back a bit Hmm why would you need the name to give proper advice anyway? Weird.

OP always check the reviews first. I would keep posting nad reviews until you get a refund. Email them and tell them of they don't refund you are reporting them.

I knew some TV channels have a +1 timeshare but didn't know MN had one.

Must be a pain to read through all those seven posts before asking a question thats already been answered.

Bakeachocolatecaketoday · 23/10/2020 16:42

Stay well away - these are all customer returns and the like. you are not getting brand new furniture....

SynchroSwimmer · 23/10/2020 17:05

Do a Trustpilot review and Twitter....

LouiseTrees · 23/10/2020 17:12

Do a credit card chargeback

GNfan · 24/10/2020 09:10

If you are WT/N, on their website they say they've given you a refund. Is that incorrect? Shocking service anyway. Really sorry you had that experience.
