so I work or have worked with a lovely team of People

Lovely boss
Caring staff
You do over and above for these kind is respectful people

And now
Boss announced retirement
We have a COW
No other words to describe her
Decide she will STEP UP as manager
Zero empathy
Rude
Belittling
Patronising
Pedantic

Could go on for a week to be fair

What to do

  1. leave and never say a word
  2. speak up now before she destroys us and before kind boss leaves 3) see what happens and maybe confront her??

Almost had the guts to confront her today

Was told to pipe down and let her be 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Shizzlestix · 20/10/2020 22:37

Who told you to pipe down?!

Can you speak to outgoing boss and say you will probably leave if cow person is appointed?

EBearhug · 20/10/2020 22:40

Who decided she will step up? Did she or did higher management?

dublingirl66 · 20/10/2020 22:41

Funny one of my colleagues suggested this a while ago

It is just so unfair
She is out of control
And acting like she is boss - taking over meetings
Telling us how we need to work
While current boss still very much there and working with us in a respectful way

Worked for an umpleasant person before so this is def triggering me a lot
Just afraid I will snap
Equally - Afraid to say nothing. And let her take over

OP posts:
dublingirl66 · 20/10/2020 22:42

She did she took it on herself
Imagine a happy team with a decent boss
And a utter mare who decides to step up to show some power and what she can achieve while upsetting many of us

So annoyed with this bull---

Worth discussing with your manager if you feal she bullies you, but it is best to be specific, have examples rather then be generic.

IdblowJonSnow · 20/10/2020 22:52

If you do say something you must keep your emotions out of it or you might not be taken seriously.
Been there, nightmare!
Good luck.

Elsewyre · 20/10/2020 22:54

I would love to work in a place I can just decide I'm management !

Why dont you be the new manager?

Ginfordinner · 20/10/2020 22:57

What gives her the right to decide that she will be the next manager? Isn't there someone more senior who decides?

lightyearsahead · 20/10/2020 23:04

Why don't you put yourself forward for the new manager post?

dublingirl66 · 20/10/2020 23:05

I'd love to know

Totally not how we ever conducted ourselves

Say nothing and leave prob easier

Hate hate her so much
Vile person and real bully

OP posts:
dublingirl66 · 20/10/2020 23:06

Like not a chance am I manager material ever

More of a heads down work done person

She is sh*ting on the great work we have done

MoonJelly · 20/10/2020 23:06

Ask your manager's manager or HR what the recruitment process for the new manager will be, because letting the person with the loudest voice decide they have become manager is dreadful recruitment practice.

Ispini · 20/10/2020 23:08

I would call her out on everything she says, literally everything and encourage your coworkers to do so as well. She’ll soon get the message and complain to your current manager in writing that you as a staff are all worried, oh and do it in writing! Otherwise you are all going to be miserable going forward. Seriously you don’t need that shit along with everything else that’s going on!

dublingirl66 · 20/10/2020 23:15

Yes I agree so so true

Especailly as we know the job
Do it well

It is utter madness
My very kind boss been with us 25 years
Kind humble
Respectful

He has 6 months left but bossyboots weeding in and takes over monthly meetings no stopping her

Spoke up today and got firmly shut down by her and I'm so annoyed with This as I had good reason to speak up
Unreal stuff

And others been there maybe 15-20 years saying not a word
They act annoyed but won't say a thing 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

OP posts:
Ginfordinner · 20/10/2020 23:24

You haven't said why she thinks she has the job in the bag. Who has appointed her?

dublingirl66 · 20/10/2020 23:33

No one has

She has expressed interest and that she hopes to step up

Boss still in place
Cheeky fuckery and I can't deal

OP posts:
ktp100 · 21/10/2020 00:36

You need to make sure people speak up before she interviews.

She will give the impression all is well and she's doing a fab job of stepping up (unprompted!! Who the feck does that?!!).

Any chance you could speak to your lovely boss before leaving and request she passes on concerns to bosses anonymously before she leaves?

Emmelina · 21/10/2020 00:50

Speak up before the nice one goes, definitely. I was in this situation a few years back. Keep a diary of what she’s said and how, and when. It will really help. Good luck, it’s a sh** show when this happens, but if you leave others will still be stuck there with her!

FredaFrogspawn · 21/10/2020 00:54

You really need to bring the team with you. United voices will have more impact than yours alone .

Shxx · 21/10/2020 02:22

Have a vote to vote her out.
If everyone stands together she will be gone. The issue is people are to scared to stick together

lunalulu · 21/10/2020 04:31
  1. without doubt

  2. no chance - she'll get worse

dublingirl66 · 21/10/2020 04:51

Thank you all really useful ❤️
