to feel guilty for sticking to the rules?

I am from London, where there are now more restrictions. I have had to cancel some well looked forward to family time with my DS and his grandmother. She lives in tier 1 and is very dissapointed
I have also had to let a friend down as cannot have her teenage DC overnight, due to her travelling for work.
I might not have religiously stuck to all rules in the past due to these being unclear, however this tier system has made things very clear for all areas, but have kept interactions to a minimum (know I'll probably get flamed for that!)
I know that this is for a reason and that we have to comply by this, but I hate letting people down, and feel really, really, guilty.
I would feel guilty if it was the other way round also, and that I ahve taught DS that rules don;t apply to us.
Such a horrible situation, am feeling so awful for all the people who are isolated, at the same time I know we need to do this

We're having to let friends down now we're in tier two and they're not. I'm conflicted, because my DH is happy for us to mingle with these people, but not following the rules doesn't sit right with me. I feel like I'm being a killjoy for doing the right thing!

its horrible, isn't it? Genuinely conflicted, it shouldn't be a crime to see family, but suddenly it is

I've followed the rules from day one, mostly out of wanting to keep my son safe (not high risk but didn't want to risk it anyway!) he's 15 months and hasn't been able to hug his grandparents or anyone else since March, it's getting harder and harder everyday to keep this up and COVID just seems to be getting worse 😩

Don’t feel guilty. In Scotland we haven’t been allowed others in our houses for a few weeks. It’s sad but it has to happen.
