Eating out with sister in a tier two area

Hi,

I'm hoping for some advice. Both my sister and I live in different areas, both tier one, and so can still meet inside under the current rules. We usually meet up half way between our two areas as we live quite far apart and have a booking this weekend at a restaurant that we've just realised is in tier two. I've searched the gov website to try and find the answer, but wondered if anyone knew if this is acceptable or if you're only supposed to meet in tier one areas?

You can’t meet unless you stay outside.

NatMoz · 16/10/2020 12:34

Is the meal outside? Then yes you can.

You can't inside no

I believe you have to abide by whatever the local restrictions are in the area you are in.

So if you travel to a T2 area, you have to abide by T2 rules whilst there which would be not meeting inside a restaurant with another household.

I'd just meet in one of your T1 areas?

Frazzled2207 · 16/10/2020 12:38

I don’t think you can.

CuppaZa · 16/10/2020 12:44

No you can’t

I have an identical filmmaker and think it'll be a no. I've asked the restaurant.

Clearasmuddypuddles · 16/10/2020 12:52

No you can’t. The legislation says you have to abide by the rules in the area you are in, as well as the rules where you are from.
